Establish the Production Specification
Glasmero coordinates glass cup production with product-specific manufacturing partners for importers, distributors, hospitality suppliers and private label brands. Each order starts with a defined model and an agreed specification.
Confirm the material, cup dimensions, capacity, decoration, accessories and packaging. State whether capacity means brimful volume or a specified filling level. Drawings and reference samples should identify essential features and acceptable tolerances.
An existing model and a newly developed shape follow different preparation schedules. Before proceeding, we review model availability, tooling needs, quantity per design and the required dispatch date.
Prepare Material and Form the Cup
The selected product determines the material preparation and forming sequence. Applicable furnace-based production involves batch preparation, melting and refining before forming. Other models may start from prepared glass tubing.
Depending on the construction, forming may involve pressing, blowing or tube working. Handles, stems and double-wall structures can require additional forming or joining operations.
For a new profile, tooling trials establish whether the proposed geometry can be produced within agreed requirements. Our glass forming and shaping page explains the design details that need review before the production route is confirmed.
Complete Cooling and Finishing Operations
Applicable annealing and controlled cooling stages address stresses introduced during forming. Their position in the process depends on the manufacturing route and any subsequent joining work.
Rim finishing addresses the drinking edge. Relevant checks include visible chips, sharp edges and irregularities. The cup base also needs attention to its standing surface and stability.
Where handles or stems are involved, review alignment, clearance and the condition of the joining area. These details should be assessed on samples before the appearance and construction references are approved.
Apply Decoration to the Confirmed Model
Decoration proceeds according to the selected cup and approved artwork. Screen printing, decals or other available finishes require a model-specific feasibility review.
Confirm the print area, artwork size, orientation and colour reference. Handles, curved walls and textured surfaces can restrict placement. Preparation, application and any curing or firing steps depend on the agreed decoration method.
A physical decorated sample provides the production reference. Our custom logo printing page outlines the artwork and positioning details needed before this stage. Artwork changes after approval may require new setup work or further sampling.
Check Production Against the Approved Reference
Inspection checkpoints should reflect the order specification and the defects that matter for the selected product. Relevant checks include dimensions, capacity, appearance, rim condition, base stability and decoration placement.
Lids, straws and set components require separate quantity and fit checks where applicable. Agree the sampling method, acceptance criteria and reporting requirements before production.
Requested performance testing needs a defined method and scope. Visual inspection alone does not establish thermal resistance, food-contact compliance or dishwasher suitability. Any third-party inspection should be scheduled before shipment release.
Pack the Order and Prepare for Dispatch
Packing follows the approved configuration. Confirm individual protection, accessory compartments, box contents, carton quantities and shipping marks. Handles and stems may need support beyond standard cup dividers.
The packaging and export preparation stage also covers carton measurements, weights and documents required under the agreed shipping terms.
Lead time depends on tooling status, materials, decoration, packaging availability and production scheduling. Send your cup reference, quantities, artwork and destination so Glasmero can review the applicable stages, sample requirements and quotation scope.
